Since the time I remember, I have always loved poetry. While my childhood thrived on the poems of Dinkar, as I grew up, I started enjoying poets like Bachchan, Nirala, Prasad, Agyeya.
Rashmirathi remains my all time favorite. The first touch with Rashmirathi happened with the poem “कृष्ण की चेतावनी” and then it went on to reading the full epic. I finally passed on the love to that book to my son I loved watching him enjoying the flow of words through the passage of Mahabharata.
Apart from Hindi poem, I also enjoyed some English ones. The likes of “The charge of Light Brigade”, “Sympathy” etc were my favorites since childhood. In college years, I got hold of a book named “The complete works of William Shakespeare” from my teacher. Needless to say, the book never found its way back. I still enjoy reading that book once in a while.
Over a period of time the love of reading poetry also transcended to writing poem. I started i school and continued through college and after. To be honest, I have not written anything for some time now. But I shall overcome my lethargy and let my pen flow once again…Please say Amen!
